When Should You Reveal Your Weakness in a Job Interview? | AdsThumb

 You might be wondering about the timing. Do you bring up topics only when asked, or do you bring up topics on your own? Don't bring up this specific question, but have your answers and strategies ready in case of greatest weakness even before you start looking for Jobs classifieds. And what if the interviewer never even asks about the greatest weakness story you've meticulously prepared? This is a reminder to have troubleshooting procedures in place.



Don't worry if they don't specifically ask. Even if interviewers never explicitly ask about your greatest weakness, they are undoubtedly assessing your strengths and weaknesses based on everything you communicate verbally and nonverbally. Many companies avoid these types of done-to-death, super-basic questions in favor of a far more sophisticated approach to candidate analysis.

You never bring it up again and move on (there's so much else to talk about!)

You "repackage" or "repurpose" your answers and stories – you turn your "weaknesses into strengths" examples into something you can mention near the end of the interview, once you've warmed up and felt more confident and relaxed.

Control the narrative at the end of the interview.

You have the floor and may ask questions. What a strong statement! This is the part of the interview where you have complete control over the narrative. Now is the time to show off your relatable, confident, and extremely self-aware side by telling a story about how you turned a weakness or professional setback into a strength. As a result, you have demonstrated a significant opportunity for self-development that you identified and mastered.
